Junior died of old age in 1207. He was the covenant's "doorkeeper" (chief guard) until old age forced him to retire in Winter 1195. From retirement until death, he was the Master of the Armory and kept the key to the vault where the covenant keeps the enchanted arms and armor.

Description

"Junior" was 60 years old at the start of the Saga. He gained his nickname when he was the youngest fighting grog in Stranggore.

Junior was proud to wear the livery of Stranggore as the last of its elite guards. He was a veteran of many adventures and battles and knew a great deal about the legends of the area -- having participated in several of them himself.

He was an old curmudgeon and, unlike most grogs, he was perfectly willing to criticize magi to their faces.

Junior's real name was Paul Fuller, though no one in the covenant called him by it.

Retirement

In Winter 1195, Junior suffered his third Aging Crisis. He contracted pneumonia and gout. Although he survived, Argus declared him too infirm to continue his duties as a guardsman of Stranggore.

Junior lived in a cottage on the covenant grounds. He had the ceremonial title of Master of the Armory and held the keys to the armory. It was his duty to see that the weapons and armor of the covenant are well maintained. He also sometimes helped to train the grogs, mostly in the Spring and Summer when his gout didn't bother him as much.

He died in 1207.

Relationships

Sometimes rival of Brian the Mad for authority in the covenant. Curmudgeonly mentor of Eustace and Joseph.

Since Junior was a grog, he's fair game for anyone to look at.
