Torkel is a newcomer to the covenant of Stranggore, a failed Hermetic apprentice who tragically lost his Gift. He holds the honored post of Herald and is an energetically working to restore the covenant's prestige and vitality.
Torkel is a former apprentice of a Flambeau maga who disastrously failed his Gauntlet. As a result of his failure, he was imprisoned by a lord of the dark faeries who gradually stole his Gift. He eventually escaped by making an enchanted cloak that lets him transform into the shape of a raven.
Torkel is still a member of the mystical society of Watchers, who guard England against supernatural threats. He reports to Argus.
