Bill and Angus have been training the village milita since 1196. There are about a twenty decently-trained men, armed with spears and a few bill hooks. Bloody Bill is their captain and Angus is his second.

In a serious emergency, the village could arm about another 30 men and boys, but their Great Weapon still would be only 1.
