Paul is a disfigured, hunchbacked boy who was found in the woods near Stranggore by Godwyn. He has few survival skills, but can shape shift into a bear and can read and write in at least English and Latin.
Paul grew up in a small town called Starfield, which lies near Exeter. Paul was raised by Father Ryan, a priest who runs the small Starfield church.
