Ralf is a bellicose warrior-companion whom the magi of Stranggore encountered in the company of the magus Davin of the Crimson Brotherhood.

Ralf is sometimes called the Red Hound. He is not a knight, though he wears mail and carries a sword in defiance of Norman law.
