Troll of the New Forest
The Troll of the New Forest is a wicked and magically powerful creature who defeated James and killed George the Bastard in the Spring of 1207 (see A Hero at Last).
Appearance and Physical Abilities
The Troll is nine feet tall, muscular, and covered in horny blue hide. It has ram's horns growing from its forehead and boar's tusks jutting from its jaw. It hands and feet are clawed.
The troll is a fierce combatant in mêlée, fighting with a mighty cudgel or wrestling smaller, human-sized opponents and crushing them in a bear hug. Its scaly hide protects it like armor.
Past Activities
In Spring 1207, the Troll was summoning mists and wolves to drive the magae of Elder Grove away from the magical center of the New Forest. James confronted it with force of arms but was defeated at high cost: the faithful grog George the Bastard died in the battle.
After James escaped, the Troll fled the New Forest. Where it went next is unknown.
Behavior and Known Powers
The Troll speaks Gaelic and uses that language for casting spells.
Its Might score seems to be aligned with the Magic Realm rather than the Infernal or Faerie.
