I may some day write this narrative in nice prose, but here are some essential facts.

Duke Hesmesh sent a villager, Codric, one of Merewen's kin, to ask the magi of Stranggore to visit him. Merewen sent Agnes. Agnes chose two grogs: Eustace because he was her friend, and George the Bastard because he understood noble etiquette.

Along the way, an inkeeper's wife treated Agnes like dirt so Agnes slipped her a potion containing a powerful laxative.

Duke Hesmesh wanted a message delivered to his brother and sister. The message was to ask the question, "Does he still sleep?" We didn't ask who "he" was.

George didn't agree to do this until it was clear Duke Hesmesh was going to reward us for this service. He was fairly diplomatic in negotiating with the Duke.

Had to go into a cave on the north coast of Devonshire. (What did we get out of there?) Cave was guarded by an animate statue painted with runes in blue woad. This gave us a hard time until George toppled it down a cliff and the runes scraped off one arm, which then became immobile. So the plan was to give the MacGuffin to Agnes so the statue would chase her, and have her swim out to sea. The statue walked out after her and eventually the sea washed the runes off and paralyzed it. George and Eustace couldn't swim and they felt badly that they couldn't stay with Agnes to guard her as she executed this plan.

We found the duke's sister and her answer to the question was "yes, he still sleeps." Apparently that is a good thing.

Didn't find the duke's brother, though we looked hard. Eustace might want to study Magic Lore to find clues as to his location. Maybe seek access to library at Cad Gadu?

As a reward for service, Eustace got a sense of direction (at the cost of use of one eye), George got a child (though his wife was considered too old), and Agnes got a promise of future teaching in magic by Duke Hesmesh.
